You should be able to drink this popular drink because half of a margarita consists of pure tequila. Lime juice and orange liqueur provide a distinctive sweet and sour note.
Why does the classic margarita have a salt rim?
The trademark of the margarita is the decorative salt rim, which makes the drink complete. Not only does it look pretty, the salt also complements the flavor of the tequila.
Ingredients:
- salt
- 8 cl white tequila
- 4 cl Orange liqueur (e.g. Cointreau)
- 4 cl fresh lime juice
- Crushed ice
- 1 Organic lime
Method:
- Rinse lime with hot, dry, and cut into slices. Put some salt on a plate.
- Moisten the edges of 2 margarita glasses with a wedge of lime, then press them into the salt.
- Pour lime juice, orange liqueur, and tequila with crushed ice in a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously. Pour into the prepared margarita glasses, garnish with 1 lime wedge each and serve immediately.
